Donald collected some file papers and threw them into his black leather case.
“Donald, what are you doing?” Amanda, his secretary, fixed her glasses. “Today is a board meeting.” She watched him leave the room.
“I am quitting.”
The door flapped after he walked out to the main hall.
Amanda jerked her shoulder and went back to her table, unsure what to say to others.
A delivery man brought a big cake to the office.
Brandon walked out from the meeting room. “Will Donald show up? Everyone is gathered and ready.”
“I can’t tell you that I know an answer for this one.” Amanda said, twisting a pencil between her fingers.
The phone rang.
“You have reached Donald G.Brooks Corporation. Amanda is speaking. How may I help…” She stopped speaking. The caller was impatient and short.
Amanda gave the phone to Brandon. “It’s for you. Boss is calling and he is not happy.”
Brandon put the call on loud-speaker. “Hey, Donald…”
“What are you still doing in the building?” Donald’s voice thundered through the hall and echoed to all the rooms. “Meeting is over. Come to our fishing spot immediately. Bring the rest of our gang.”
“Yes, sir.” Brandon turned off the phone and looked at the workers staring from their cubic.
